Daniel Osorio Olave
PARTNER
Mr. Daniel Osorio is a Naval Mechanical Engineer at the Chilean Naval Academy. He also studied to become an International Welding Engineer at the Technology Institute of Galicia, Spain. Mr. Osorio has a Postgraduate Degree as Naval Engineer from the Royal Naval Engineering College in Plymouth, England.
His technical background is based on 20 years as Engineering Officer for the Chilean Navy. As part of his career in the Naval Institution, he assumed several different positions in the main fleet and also held important positions at shore, as Head of Propulsion Department of the Chilean Navy. Mr. Osorio was in charge of the students for engineering officers in the Chilean Navy Engineering College for a period of two years.
In the Maritime sector, he started his career as Technical Superintendent, and after two years he was designated as part of the Owners’ Site Office for Newbuilding Projects (Product Tankers, Chemical Tankers, LPG Carriers and others), including Hull Supervisor and Project Manager, and finally Owner´s Representative for a several different new building projects.

In the Ultranav Group, he was promoted to Deputy Manager and afterwards became General Manager of the Engineering and Project Department of Humboldt Shipmanagement. As an important part of his career, in this prestigious company, he was in charge of the Fuel Economy initiative around the Group, implemented several tools and operational process in order to save a huge amount of money.
He is married with 4 children, Chilean citizen, and resides in Viña del Mar.

Carlos Nuñez Van Gurp
PARTNER
Mr. Carlos Nunez is a Marchant Marine Engineer from the Chilean Navy Academy. He has sailed as 3rd Engineer up to Chief Engineer during about 25 years.

The last 10 years he has been engaged in a ship management company as Technical Superintendent for different type of vessel being those Oil tankers – Chemical tankers – Gas carriers – General cargo -Bulk carrier and others.
​
The last five years in Ultranav Group he was part of the Engineering and Project Dept. senior supervisor New Building and as Deputy Manager. Full experiences in new building from 2002 in Korean shipyards: DSME – STX and Samsung as Mechanical and Electrical senior supervisor for oil tankers and gas carrier.

Other activities in connection with shipping business is the condition surveys reports for buying or time charter of around 28 chemical tankers – oil tanker and Bulk carriers.

He is married with 4 children, Chilean citizen , resides in Quilpué.

Jaime Oyarzun
PARTNER
Mr. Jaime Oyarzun holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Sciences and a Naval Construction Engineer from the Austral University of Chile. He holds the degree of Chief Machine Engineer of the National Merchant Marine of Chile.
He starts his professional activity as a student in practice in the Ishikawajima Arima do Brasil , passing through all the departments and finishing in the project department of the shipyard, continuing his professional activity working in Asenav Shipyards of Chile in the department. of production participating in the construction of ferries, trawlers, fences and in the construction of boats for the National Navy.
At the end of 1984, he emigrated to Humboldt Ship-management (ship management company of the Ultranav group) where he worked for 16 years aboard gas ships, Bulk Carriers, container ships and chemical tankers of the Ultranav fleet, reaching the rank of Chief Engineer of machines. Later, he was transferred to Humboldt's engineering department to work as a Project Engineer in the construction of Tugboats, PSV, AHTS, Pushers-Tugs and Pilots-Boats where he worked until 2017.
He is married and has four daughters and lives in Valdivia.

Manuel Villaroel
PARTNER
Mr. Manuel Villarroel is a Marchant Navy Engineer, graduated from the Chilean Navy Academy.
He has 20 years of experience on board of LPG Vessel, Full Refrigerated and Semi Pressurized type, Tanker Ships and Chemical Carrier, such as Gas Engineer, Third Engineer, Second Engineer and finally Chief Engineer Level 1.
Since 2012, he has done functions as Superintendent in Humboldt Shipmanagement, a
company of Ultragas group, mainly in charge of LPG Carriers and Tankers Ships, supervising the technical operation, budget, Flags, Oil Majors and Class requirements, in addition to the planning and supervision of Dry Dock periods. Also the Hand Over of existing vessel during purchase and sale processes between Ship Owners.
From middle of 2013 to January 2017, he was part of the Engineering and Project Dept. as New Building Supervisor, with full experience as Outfitting and Machinery Superintendent and Site Office Deputy Manager, during the construction process of 07 LPC Carrier 22000 Cub met ,delivered to Ultragas Denmark, in Korean STX Shipyard.
Since January 2017, he was part of New Building Supervision Staff, of Andriaki-Ultranav Joint Venture, supervising the construction of 04 Crude Product Oil Tanker, 74000 DWT in Korean STX Shipyard.

Other activities in connection with shipping business, that he has done are:
ï‚· Inspection of Service Vessels of Ultranav Group, Bulk Carrier, Tanker Ship, LPG
Carrier, Chemical Carrier.
ï‚· Inspection of Service Vessels under time charter between ship owners and Ultranav
Group in order to know the real condition of machinery, hull, operation and Ship
Management System of the vessels under charter of Ultranav Group.
ï‚· Study of new rules and regulations applicable to new construction and existing vessels
as well as the application of these to Ultranav Fleet (BWTP,VGP, EPA etc).
ï‚· Feed Back Meetings with factories related to the shipping business, example BWTP
and its application on board.
ï‚· Processes of acquisition of Critical Onboard Equipment, including commissioning tests.
Mr Manuel Villarroel also has a University Diploma degree in Maritime Transport and Port
Administration.
He is married with 4 children, Chilean citizen , resides in Villa Alemana, Chile.

Klaus Illmer
PARTNER
Mr. Klaus Illmer is a Merchant Navy Engineer, graduated from the Chilean Navy Academy and also have an engineering degree in maritime transportation and ports.

After several years on board as engineer on duty and reefer engineer on merchant vessels he goes to work at Chilean shipyards during 10 years, firstly at Asenav as quality control (QC) inspector and after, at Detroit shipyards, forming the QC area in Chile as well as Detroit Brazil shipyard branch. At these shipyards he was in charge of field inspections and tests related to structure, mechanics; equipment installation, electric and hydraulic area of fishing vessels, tugs, PSV and AHTS. Direct participation at port and sea trials and shipyard representative during field tests and inspections of classification society’s as well as Chilean and international maritime authorities.

He works more than 11 years as international purchaser of marine equipment for Detroit shipyards (both Chile and Brazil).
During the year 2016 Mr. Illmer was in charge, as site manager of Humboldt company, supervising the construction of a new building of a PSV vessel at China. Besides normal QC duty also was performed several customer modifications to the original project, drawings verifications, legal vessel owner reception, others.

ï‚·Warranty engineer at delivery voyage from Chile to Fiji Island of a passenger vessel build at Asenav shipyard.

ï‚·Medium size used vessel inspections for acquisition of Detroit company at Europe.

ï‚·In charge of the Naval Division of Detroit Shipyard to achieve the ISO9001 certification with ABS. (2001 to 2003) Certification obtained in June 2003. Internal auditor and related to validation of company procedures according standard.

ï‚·Several international visits to marine equipment suppliers and equipment test at manufactories.

José Luis Bahamondes
PARTNER
Mr. José Luis Bahamondes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Sciences and a Naval Engineer from the Universidad Austral de Chile, he is also a master in mechanical engineering and materials at the Universidad Austral de Chile, he is a specialist in non-destructive tests with courses in United States. and Chile in Phase Array, TOFD, Ultrasound, Penetrant test, Magnetic test,RX technologies.

Has experience repairs of floating structures and ships, with knowledge in all areas of welding SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, in addition to the supervision and knowledge of newbuilding.
​
He began working around 2007 in the industrial and navy areas, participating differents projects like to AHTS, Cruiser, Tugboats, fishing ships in Chile. In the international area he Worked in STX shipyards of South Korea participating in the construction of LPG-type vessels and at the construction of bilobular Carbon-Manganese type C tanks, he also participated in tugboat project in China.
